Eurovision and Britains Got Talent

Well the hype is huge here for these things, especially in this household! So we, sados that we are, downloaded both and watched them on evening this week. Loved the excitement of being second on the table, however this was short lived as the majority of you guys probably knew weeks ago!

What with this excitement and the thought that Raj was a changed man in his 33rd year, the shock and excitement of him mowing the lawn (this is something that Raj has NEVER done - all that hayfever!)

The weather is good and have agreed to start painting this little house for landlord Glen. We are also looking at the possibilities of mortgages too. All excitement...and the final of BGT on Saturday!!!!!

Happy Birthday to us!

It has been our birthdays this week and the best birthday present (apart from the egg cooker from mum) was hearing the babies heartbeat again to check he/she was OK.

Raj and Hayden made me pancakes with Maple syrup this morning. It was lush, another good reason on moving halfway across the globe. I had lovely letters from Hanna and my Nan as well as lush hugs from Hayden. Then Raj went to work and left me with this...

He has promised to do them tonight so I am off with Mel to look at a possible car for us and to get Hayden his big boy bed.

We had a lovely BBQ on Tuesday with people from Raj's work over for Curry and looking forward to going to Wend and Jax for Pies on Saturday.

Date Night

As Raj had decided to go out, I thought that I should try and go out too, spend some time together away from the TV, talk on money and, even though we love him lots, Hayden. So we called Sam and thankfully at short notice she was able to come over and sit with Hayden until 10.30pm so we could go out eat and drink :)

It was really nice, we sat with Christian and Zoe, and some of Raj's other colleagues were there eating too so got to meet the boss and others whose names now were put to faces.

There was live music, Dad would have loved, folk music, which seems very popular here. Good Times :)

Home Sick?

Feeling it now and with the addition of being pregnant and starting a job today, pretty low at the moment. The novelty has not worn off...this place is still great just wish people were here to share it.

Decided yesterday that going for a house here would take a while. After speaking with Mortgage place, although they said we could do it with 5% rather than a 20% deposit, as first informed, we would still need that or do this rent to own thing. The rent to own is a way of saving up the deposit by renting it first, possibly a good why but adds a lot to house cost over the years!
I dunno don't think I could be here forever, for now is great and even a few years but the way I'm feeling today is lonely......and star wars and light saber duels can become tiring!!!!

Hopefully this job shouldnt be too hard and the extra money will mean some independance again.

Wonder if we could get to the beach later?

TODAY WAS GOOD...PLAYING SHOPS :) Clover Farm is the name of the Store I am working in you can just see the sign in this picture on my first day at work!

Another Day, Another Beach!

Feeling pretty low today, missing friends and family for the first time, not sleeping well this pregnancy and suffering with extreme headaches, with an unsympathetic husband!

Anyway Carrie saved the day with a call at about 10am asking if Hayden and I would like to join her and Alex, Corrinne and Violet and Kim and Cassandra at the beach. Obviously this was excepted with open arms and made me happy again as the day was HOT!

We went to Tea Hill Beach in Stratford, only 15 minutes away, there were loads of pools of water that got nice and warm for the kids to play in.

Again the beach went on for miles, sand was different here, minimal dry space and clay like texture. It was red and stained things!

Violet loved the sand and sea, she ate the majority.

and Alex liked being clean!

Hayden loved the sea creatures he found and the large unusual shaped clam shells.

Hayden and Cassandra played in the pools for ages, they had a good time :)

Play group again tomorrow :)

Victoria Day

Today was Victoria Day...what this means I didn't know until I checked out good old Wikipedia...for those of you with an interest...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_Day

We were pleased to get another day after a busy weekend to do some family things. We went swimming, for a lunch at Wendy's (Margaret's favourite, Raj tells me) and to the cinema to see Star Trek (btw this is excellent if any of you have not seen it)

It was lovely the weather wasn't great so a good day to do these things.

Sunday was Bob and Maggie's housewarming/engagement. Bob works with Raj and Maggie his fiance, they are lovely. Bob is English too. They don't live far away so we were able to walk over and back, which gave Raj chance to sober up!

On Saturday we went to Brittany and Steven's house for a Pot Roast, they are from America and had a little boy, Chadley, out here only 6 weeks ago. They have 2 other children, Matthew and Bradley, unfortunately they weren't there so Hayden played alone. He will look forward to meeting them though.

Friday night I went with Sam to her sister in laws for a jewellery party, it was really lovely and not too dear. They are all from Devon so it was nice to chat with them.
This is a picture taken by Zoe...lovely seen of the Lobster fishermen in Lobster season.

It has been busy but have met some lovely people and really thankful for that as I was starting to miss home (well friends and family more than Harlow) now I feel I have people I can call and go out with :)

The Day at the Beach

What a beautiful day. Thanks to Zoe (Cristian's wife from Raj's work) we were able to drive north and go to Brackley beach and Stanhope.

Hayden with his water pistol!

Running from the waves

Brackley Beach

The Sand Dunes

We also took a drive through many areas which looked amazing. This part of the island is unbelievable, a mix between Cornwall's beaches, Dartmoor's expanse of green space, Norfolk's sand dunes and a cleanliness even Auntie Jane and Hanna would be proud of!

The famous Covehead Lighthouse

Happy Mummy and Hayden :)

Day at Victoria Park

Today the weather was glorious...we decided a trip to the park was needed for both of us! The picture below shows our house at the end of the street

and this one taken from the same spot but to the right show the waterfront at the end of the road :)
Victoria Park is a large park in a lovely part of Charlottetown, there are baseball pitches...

...skateboard parks and walks through the wood...

...an outdoor swimming pool, wet play area(both not open till end of May) and the park!

Hayden loved playing with all the kids and exploring

Today we made Rock Cakes too...following Nannie Noodles recipe. Chef Hax was in charge...

...and mummy was left with the mess!

After a long afternoon the sleep time finally came!

Mothers Day No. 2

Well can't believe I'm lucky enough to get two mothers days this year! Breakfast in Bed and spoilt all day, finally control of the TV remote!
Had a nice day although weather was rubbish so I didn't get dressed it felt good(a bit scanky but good)!
Wish I had thought about getting the camera last night. Raj could hear a humming sound, I was completely oblivious, he turned everything off and still heard it...realised it was coming from the cellar!!!!! I hate cellars and ours especially, it is scary...however he was right the sound was coming from the pump which pumps out water to stop flooding (we live on top of a fresh water spring: hence the name Spring Street) it had stopped working and was not pumping any water out and the whole cellar was ankle deep in water. We called Glen, 10.30pm Sunday night, not something people in PEI know, he came round equipt with wellies and found the problem. Got completely covering in water, wellies didn't help much, and left again. He is very helpful :)

Mums from Away

Apparently what you're called when you come from somewhere else on the island! Went with Carrie to Kim's house today, we all took a snack and met for afternoon tea, it was lovely. Hayden was ok but a little tired and he needs to understand to be a little more respectful in peoples homes. He is SO confident he takes over and can be a little naughty at times. He is the first to grass up anyone else who has done wrong tho'!

So this is Kim...obviously a good photographer :) She has a little girl, called Cassandra, same age as Hayden.
This is Corinne and Violet (11months) Corinne's husband works with Raj at Other Ocean.

The lovely Violet, so content to play and watch.

This is Alex, Carrie's little man, very eager to get moving...9 months I think?

And Carrie, tucking into a cookie!

Hayden loved playing with the children and was good, most of the time :)

Even though it is raining today, Raj is determined to make the most of the burgers Hayden and he made last night. Hayden had a great time getting his hands dirty...he loves cooking :)

Merry May

Well May is when it all starts...entertainment, the sun and BBQ's every weekend! We have so much to do this month, it's choosign the ones we want thats the hardest.

Its lovely to see Raj coming home after, although tiring, an enjoyable day at work, he loves it there and I'm beginning to enjoy the lifestyle too.

Zoe and Christian came around on Sunday for a roast dinner, to pay back for them inviting Raj round when he was on his own. I got on well with Zoe and throughly enjoyed her company. Hopefully will see them again soon.

Eveneings are still strange, getting used to the routine. Raj gets home between 6 and 7, as soon as he does Hayden is at the door wanting to play with him. they only get an hour before time for Hayden to go to bed, that is very much Rajs job now, the bedtime thing!

Gives me chance to relax, having Hayden at home is not easy (I wish Jo and Jenny and other 'stay at home mums' had warned me!)

The parks are great round here, gave me time to continue on my Dan Brown book while Hayden loved the slides.

Bought some new furniture for the deck and a BBQ, our Birthday presents to each other. Must remember to where sun tan cream tomorrow tho' caught the sun today, badly!

The sun definatly called for a Dairy Queen Ice cream today!
